Is your website ready for the SEO starting lineup?
See the bottom of this article for my #1 tip to get your site listed on Google…
We’ve had a blast, but as parents a frustrating reality is that “little Johnny” doesn’t get as much time at bat or on the field as these two proud parents think he should.
Naturally that got me thinking about my SEO students and their struggles to get Google to “put them in” and let them “play” on the first page of Google.
The truth is, that Google experiments with your place in the lineup (or rather the rankings) all the time – to see if your content is ready for prime-time.
Are You Ready to Play in the Game of Search Engine Optimization?
Here is a quick checklist of some of the elements you need to check on your website – in order to get Google to notice you in the search engine results.
- polished user experience
- too many long dense paragraphs – add more “white space” with smaller, shorter blocks of text
- quality images that draw visitors attention, but don’t distract from your message
- separate pages for each type of product/service you offer
- mobile optimized website
- fast loading website
And my #1 tip? Quit focusing on that one keyword you think you should be ranking for – focus on having lots of great information related to your product and service. Then you have the opportunity to rank on Google for literally thousands of search terms every single month. A great way to get started is with a detailed frequently asked questions section.
