Blog Content Ideas Abound!
If you’re wondering what type of content to start writing for your blog, there are a number of ways to do it. You could scan news articles, facebook or any other place where you get your daily dose of news. Or, you could use some of the tactics described by Casie Gillette in this Search Engine Land article. Some of her suggestions include:
- analyze keyword phrases and the associated search results.
- use Google Analytics to check out your most popular content.
- survey your customers – gathering their most frequently asked questions that you haven’t yet answered on your FAQ page.
Future of SEO – Changes!
SEO has changed rapidly over the past 15+ years. Meghan Keaney Anderson of Hubspot has summed up how different it will be in 5 years, due to the influence of mobile search, social search, voice search and personal assistants. Even though we’re not dialing in to our modems (cue fax machine sound) and logging in to AOL anymore (most of us, anyway), search has changed significantly and will continue doing so.
Some Links Are More Equal Than Others
John Mueller of Google has been a great resource for clarifying the latest updates to the Search Algorithm, and this week he confirmed that links to external sites from a sidebar or footer of a website are not given the same weight as those in the main body content of the page.
